Michael Pollan’s site
I have been thinking a lot about the food I eat (and feed my family) and the products I put on my skin (and share with my family).
These two areas connect and inter-connect in my mind quite often. There have been many changes I have made over the years to bring in food and products that contribute to a sustainable way of life. This is a BIG job…and I must say, I still have much to learn.
I came across this article by Michale Pollan today.

This quote stood out to me:
“The sun-food agenda must include programs to train a new generation of farmers and then help put them on the land.” -Michael Pollan
The hope that stays in my heart, knowing that the sun is there, warming and life giving, allows me to keep learning about growing my own food, purchasing food that is nurtured by sustainable farming techniques, and to take the time to connect locally when I can.
This article goes very deeply into the way we grow our food in the US. It gives me pause, and causes me to think about how I can, as one person, contribute to the changes necessary to support sustainability. Sharing with others is a start.
What have you read lately that got you thinking?
Susan. I have been readig SonPlacing, A Handbook for Warriors by Garrison R. Russell. It definitely has me thinking and re-thinking a lot of things. A great read.
Susan, I am always reading about nutrition. It has been my life. I read prevention magazine and articles by Dr. Mercola on the internet who talks about the importance of whole organic foods. I represent 2 companies that carry health nutritionals and supplements that are organic; whole foods. For instance if you the Essentials for Living label you will see real foods listed like, oranges, spinach, carrots, etc. Here’s the websites:
