Taking a moment to say thank you to Anne and Arun.  A very busy couple dedicated to an organic lifestyle and nurturing their beautiful children.

Anne and Arun have supported me as I journey through a world of creating my own business.  I have learned much about computer connections, coaching, and being a support to others.  They are open with the information they share, giving tips for marketing, and  they always bring me back to the goals I set forth as I began this journey.

It is wonderful to have such support as we venture forth in new areas.  Education and growth continue to be important to me and I thank Anne and Arun for being there to answer questions and give valued advice.

Tropicana Body Milk

This body milk is divine!  The smooth coconut and lovely frangipani scent is wonderful.  My family used this certified organic product year round.  Just out of the shower…to keep that dry skin soft!

I have found that I prefer to use this body milk year round.  I think the raw coconut oil is the secret for me. It becomes so very dry here in Michigan.  The humidity leaves the air and I find I need to continue to hold the moisture in my skin.  There are no synthetic chemicals, so I am happy to use it every day and night.  Plus, it smells like summer:)

New Series on Miorganicsyes:  My Favorite Miessence® Products!  I want to take some time to tell why I LOVE these products.  This is my blog and I am an Independent Representative for ONE Group (makers of miessence®).

The number one product in our home is the miessence® deodorants; Tahitian Breeze is our scent of choice.  The lovely scent; essential oils of bergamot, ylang ylang, geranium, lime, patchouli, and bitter orange are quite light and fresh.

I always thought…oh, right, organic deodorant!  Like that could keep the smell away! 

But I gave it a try…and have been using miessence® deodorant for the past four years.  It works beautifully.  My family now uses it and has had the same reaction.  I am surprised and so happy that this deodorant is organic and safe for the entire family.  No synthetic chemicals…and that is great news for the sensitive “pit” area.

While at the North American ONE Group summit, I had the opportunity to try the Berry Radical powder.   I found it to be delicious! 

Most of my focus at home and with my family is to eat as many organic, raw fruits and veggies as possible.  Getting myself in a daily routine to eat healthy continues to be at the forefront of my mind.  With the winter months upon us, eating locally becomes more of a challenge.

  • What Are Free Radicals And Why Do We Need Antioxidants?

    Oxidation occurs when free radicals (highly reactive, high-energy particles) ricochet wildly throughout the body and damage cells. Free radicals can be produced within the body by natural biological processes or introduced from outside via tobacco smoke, toxins, pollutants and sub-optimal eating habits. Free radicals are believed to accelerate the progression of cancer, cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue, and age-related diseases. Antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables help to neutralise free radicals in our bodies.

  • What are ORAC Units and How Many Do We Need?

    ORAC, short for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, is a standardised measurement of the total antioxidant power of a substance. Antioxidant power is the ability to neutralize oxygen free radicals. The more free radicals a substance can absorb, the higher it’s ORAC score. Nutritionists recommend that we consume around 5000 ORAC units per day to significantly impact antioxidant activity in the body and reduce free radical damage. One serving (half a cup) of fruits or vegetables provides approximately 500 ORAC units. If you’re not eating at least 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, you’re not getting the recommended amount of ORAC units to mop-up the damage caused by free radicals in your body every day. One serving of Berry Radical contains over 7000 ORAC units. One 150g box contains about 217,000 ORAC units. To get the equivalent amount of ORAC units in one box of Berry Radical from other foods, you’d have to buy 9 kilos of blueberries, 41 bottles of Noni juice, 17 kilos of raspberries, 17 bottles of Goji juice, 14 kilos of strawberries, 12 bottles of Mangosteen juice.

    Caffeine Content – a cup of tea contains an average of 40mg of caffeine, compared to 85mg as found in a cup of freshly brewed coffee. A serving of Berry Radical contains 6mg of caffeine.
