#16 Ask a Question

Asking my youngest son, “Do you like the miessence® products we use?”

He replies, “I LOVE the miessence® products!”

I ask, “What are your favorites?”

He replies, “The lip balm and the body milk.”

I asked him to elaborate.  He says, “The body milk feels good on your body and is soothing and calming.  It is one of my favorites! I like the lip balm because it just feels smooth.”

Well, I must say, this is the best news of the day!  I asked the question and got an immediate and heart-felt answer from my youngest son!  Imagine that…

#13 What are your strengths?

30 Days of Blogging asks me to take some time to think about my greatest strengths.

What are you really good at doing?

I am a wonderful teacher.  I keep coming back to the realization that I am really in love with teaching.  I have tried to stray away from it, but I am gently guided back each time into realizing that it is my greatest strength.

What brings you joy? Sharing with others and growing together as we learn something new.  Remembering it is the journey that supports the learning.

Where do you see your life? Connecting all of my strengths in the area of education, the arts, and a healthy lifestyle.

How does your blog support your strengths?

Bringing people together with common interests.  Teaching others about the benefits of healthy, natural living and the joy of integrating creativity into all that we do.

#10 Dreams

What Step do you wish to take? ( I am adding this blog post from yesterday to the Wishcasting post:)

I spend a great deal of time analyzing my dreams in my other blog, but for this post, I want to speak breifly on a waking dream.

A dream of changing my life…going with the flow…taking a leap into the unknown.

I began this miessence® business as a part-time adventure…which it continues to be.

I also work in the world of arts and education; combining my backgrounds of teaching, designing professional development opportunities, presenting workshops and branching into the world of creativity coaching.  And on top of all of this, I truly enjoy performing as a singer with my husband.

I am thinking regularly about giving more of my time to my miessence® business.  Wondering how to make the adjustments needed to expand this business and connect with others who are interested in joining my team

I believe my miessence® business supports my lifestyle, gets me presenting and educating others on ethical business practices and organic choices and would be a cash flow source for me.  (Whew!  I said it!  scary…)

That is my dream.  What is yours?

#9 List

Here is a short list of the people who support my blogging life:

1.  My wonderful, creative partner and husband, Chris

2. My beautiful friend, Jen

3.  My friend, whom I have never met,but who inspires me daily, Bo

I have two blogs.  My personal/daily creative blog, organicsyes and this blog, miorganicsyes.   Each serves a different purpose, but I continue to wonder how they intertwine and connect.

Who supports your blogging?

#8 Visit a Site

While I would like to visit and learn more, I always learn a great deal when I go to the Organic Consumer Association web site.

Take a visit and let me know what you think!

Another site I visit often is the West Michigan Land Conservancy:

…to keep nature nearby…

#6 Reflect

This post is so important to me.  I began this blog to promote the miessence® products that I use and love.  However, I continue to ask myself, “why this blog? why this topic? ”

Here is what I reflect upon most often when questioning the reasons why I  wish  to post to  this blog each day:

  • Sharing-sharing my excitement for products that I can stand behind, use, and promote to others.  Sharing articles and web sites to gain a broader perspective on sustainable living.
  • Support-supporting others to explore skin care products that are healthy for the skin and the earth.  Also, sharing the information I have begun to research on toxins in many other products found throughout the world today.
  • Experience-  I have learned a great deal from my own  experience with the miessence® products and from the company’s business practices.  I have chosen to use the miessence® products, primarily because I wish to purchase products free from harmful chemicals and preservatives.  While I wish I could create products like these myself, I have to be honest with my time and expertise.  I have met the creator of the miessence® products and she is willing to support every ingredient found within through research and bringing in a third party to certify the ingredients to organic standards.
  • Promoting-taking the time to research the products I put on my skin involves a commitment.  I look at the organic certification, the support for organic farming, and a strong business ethic from the ONE Group company.
  • Learning-learning about business, marketing, promotion, quality, integrity…this is on-going.

I find that this blog allows me to really look at the reasons why I have chosen to be an Independent Representative for ONE Group.  I have to research, write, and really know why it is I promote products that support a sustainable and ethical lifestyle.  This is important to me, as I wish to build an ethical business.

Posting each day with a purpose allows me to really reflect on why I have this blog.  It is a good feeling to know that others, too, may benefit from my time and efforts to learn about the process of organic skin care, safe ingredients and ethical business practices.
